Medical Technologies supply a series of handpieces that have been designed specifically for ENT laser surgical procedures. These handpieces deliver the fibre optic to enable laser light technology to perform procedures such as vaporisation, ablation, incision, excision of soft tissue in the nasal cavity, ear, pharynx, upper trachea, oral cavity and larynx. However they can be used for other types of general surgery.
Currently the company offers five handpieces for use with 200, 400 and 600 micron fibre sizes and are suitable for all KTP and Diode lasers. They are supplied in a sterile condition in a peel pouch ready for single use with some of the types providing suction. The handpiece types are as follows:
MD1176-A - handpiece for a 200 micron fibre with suction
MD1071-1-00B - handpiece for a 200 micron fibre without suction
MD1379-C - handpiece for a 400 micron fibre with suction
MD1380-D- handpiece for a 300 & 400 micron fibre with suction
MD1381-E- handpiece for a 300, 400 or 600 micron fibre with suction
